Fostalgia Diamond Plus 2010

Farook College Old Students Association (FOSA) relived the past by celebrating Fostalgia Diamond Plus on 1st August 2010. The twelve units of FOSA, including those in UK, US and Gulf countries ensured their participation in this auspicious programme. Batch wise meetings and a general gathering were the highlights of the day. The old students were grouped into five batches. When the students of batches from 1948 to 1965 grouped at the Old Library Hall, those from the 1966-75 batches assembled at the college Seminar Hall. The students from the 1976-85 batches met at the Open Air Theatre. The Main Auditorium witnessed the gathering of alumni of 1986-2000 batches. Those students who passed out after 2001 met at Farook Training College Auditorium. The nostalgic memories of the Former Professors made the Audio Visual Theatre lively. FOSA Secretary, E.P.Imbichikoya commented that the batch wise gathering ensured the comfort of all, avoiding the sulkiness of the generation gap.

The general gathering organised at the Open Air Theatre commenced at 2.pm with the formal inauguration of programmes by Mr.A.K..Basheer, HighCourt Judge. Prof. Kuttialikutty, Principal of Farook College expressed his gratification in hosting such an event which is arguably the largest alumni fest in Malabar. Mohammed Koya paid homage to the Professors of the college who passed away. Mr.K.V Kunhammed Koya, Secretary of College Managing Committee launched the FOSA Website. A visually challenged alumnus captured the hearts of the audience through his mimicry and monoact. Farook College has an alumni strength of more than 60,000.The gathering dispersed with the hope of meeting at the next Fostalgia.
